Rebranding the Windows Management User Group Netherlands to Workplace Ninja User Group Netherlands

In February 2013 Bob Cornelissen, Marnix Wolf, Peter Daalmans and myself founded the Windows Management User Group Netherlands (WMUG_NL) foundation, an independent user group covering everything around the management of Windows environments.

At that time our goal was to provide a platform for IT Pros to share experiences, tips and tricks. This can be done through periodic meetings, virtual events, blogs or otherwise. You can of course play a major role in this, the WMUG wants to function as a means of sharing knowledge and experiences together, and thankfully our goal hasn’t changed much.

Throughout the years we organized numerous of on-premises WMUG NL and Lowlands Unite events, we welcomed new and said goodbye to some of the organizing members and grew our user group with visiting members step by step. Last year, we mainly organized online events due to COVID-19, which attracted a lot of new (international) members.

In the past year we (the WMUG_NL board) have been discussing and struggling if the WMUG NL name was still the best fit for our user group. As being one of the user groups which is actively supporting the “Global Workplace Ninja Summit” a name change to the Workplace Ninja User Group Netherlands was an obvious step.

By joining the Workplace Ninjas family we won’t be changing much around our goals, the topics of sessions and our way of organizing events. So still expect topics around: Azure, Azure AD, Windows, Enterprise Mobility, Monitoring, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Microsoft 365, Security, WVD, Datacenter management, and much more to be covered during our meetings. If you have a cool topic that you want to discuss, feel free to submit your session here and be one of the next speakers at one of the Workplace Ninja User Group Netherlands events!

We hope to start organizing on-premises events later this year. Join us Tuesday the 12th of January for a special 2 hour edition of the new WPNinjas NL Tuesdays Webinar where we will share some more exciting news about our User Group.
